Dr. Haytham Mohamed Salem holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering (Soil and Water Conservation) from the Technical University of Madrid, Spain in 2014. Before joining ECUT as Senior Researcher at the Key Laboratory of Digital Land and Resources in July 2019, he had worked as a researcher of Soil and Water Conservation at Desert Research Center, Egypt. During his career, Dr. Haytham Salem has been involved in many research projects in the field of soil management and restoration in arid and semi-arid regions.

He developed close interactions with south Mediterranean countries in sustainable agriculture systems through active South-North exchange of smart agricultural production and soil conservation systems.

Dr. Haytham has published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and participated in conferences proceedings.
